NVW – Education and Community Engagement Committee
23 May, 2025The Education and Community Engagement Committee is made up of volunteers, Credit Union directors, and staff – all united by a shared goal: to empower our members through financial education and meaningful community engagement.
We meet regularly to plan and implement initiatives that support the financial wellbeing of our members and contribute to the vibrant community within our common bond area.
What We Do
- Financial Education: We believe that knowledge is power. The committee works to deliver financial literacy programmes that help members of all ages understand fraud awareness, money management, saving, and borrowing wisely. By equipping people with the tools to take control of their finances, we’re building a stronger, more financially confident community.
For help with your budgeting skills we recommend using the Competition and Consumer Protection Budget Planner https://www.ccpc.ie/consumers/money-tools/budget-planner/
- Community Support: We manage sponsorship requests from local clubs, schools, charities, and organisations. These partnerships allow us to give back to the community by supporting initiatives that align with the Credit Union’s mission of co-operation, care, and empowerment.
